Hasegawa Plastic Model Kit
Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M5c Zero Fighter [Zeke] Type 52 Hei (1/72) HAD23
The Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M5c Zero Fighter Type 52 Hei is a highly detailed 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the ultimate production version of Japan’s famous Zero fighter. Developed during the latter stages of the Second World War, the Type 52 Hei featured additional armour protection and heavier armament to improve survivability against increasingly capable Allied aircraft.
Hasegawa accurately captures the elegant lines of the Zero with finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, realistic landing gear and sharply moulded flying surfaces. The Type 52 Hei’s distinctive late-production features are faithfully reproduced, while Hasegawa’s renowned engineering delivers excellent fit and crisp moulding quality throughout the build.
This compact 1/72 scale model is ideal for collectors of Pacific War aircraft and Japanese military aviation. The aircraft’s distinctive dark green camouflage and weathered finish also provide an excellent opportunity to apply realistic painting and weathering techniques.

History
The Mitsubishi A6M5c Type 52 Hei was one of the final and most heavily armed production variants of the legendary Zero fighter. Introduced in 1944, it featured additional armour for the pilot, self-sealing fuel tanks and increased firepower with extra 13.2mm machine guns to improve its effectiveness against heavily armed American aircraft. Although these improvements enhanced survivability, they also increased weight, reducing some of the exceptional agility for which the Zero had become famous. Despite this, the Type 52 Hei continued to serve as one of the Imperial Japanese Navy’s principal fighter aircraft until the end of the Second World War.
Glue and paints are sold separately.
