This 1/72 scale plastic model kit from Hasegawa represents the VF-11B Thunderbolt fitted with a rocket booster, as seen in the OVA series Macross Plus. The aircraft appears in flight-test and pursuit scenes, including the record-tracking mission involving Isamu Dyson of the United Space Force.

This edition includes newly tooled plastic parts for the rocket booster assembly mounted above and below the fuselage, along with closed leg covers for a clean in-flight configuration. The forward section of the booster is moulded in clear blue plastic to replicate the distinctive exhaust effect. The model is designed for display in flight and includes a dedicated Macross stand and support struts.

History

The VF-11B Thunderbolt is a mass-production variable fighter featured in the Macross universe. In Macross Plus, specially equipped versions were used during high-speed evaluation and combat simulations involving advanced prototype aircraft.
