Mr Hobby Paints

Mr Hobby paints are among the most respected modelling paints used by scale modellers worldwide. Produced by GSI Creos in Japan, the range is known for its excellent colour accuracy, smooth application, and durable finish, making it a popular choice for aircraft, military vehicles, figures, and science-fiction models.

The Mr Hobby paint system includes several specialised ranges designed for different modelling techniques. Mr Color paints are lacquer-based paints known for their strong pigmentation, fast drying time, and durable finish, making them ideal for airbrushing and professional modelling work. These paints have been widely used in the modelling hobby for decades and offer one of the largest colour ranges available. For modellers who prefer water-based paints, Aqueous Hobby Color provides an acrylic alternative that offers excellent coverage while remaining easy to use. These paints have a low odour and can be thinned with water or dedicated thinners, making them suitable for both brush painting and airbrushing. The Mr Hobby paint range also includes specialist finishes such as Mr Metal Color and other metallic paints designed to reproduce realistic metal surfaces on aircraft, engines, and armour components. These paints are particularly useful when creating polished metal effects, weathered metal surfaces, or natural metal aircraft finishes.
