The Perry Miniatures Franco-Prussian War French Infantry Advancing set provides a versatile collection of infantry figures representing French troops during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. Sculpted with the attention to historical detail that Perry Miniatures is known for, this plastic set allows players and collectors to build infantry units suitable for a wide variety of battlefield scenarios.

The box contains components for 38 figures in total, offering multiple assembly options to create realistic and varied infantry formations. Twenty-five figures can be assembled advancing at the high porte position, capturing the appearance of troops moving confidently towards the enemy. Alternatively, these figures can be built marching with shouldered rifles, making them suitable for parade formations, manoeuvres or troops moving into battle.

In addition to the main infantry body, the set includes ten figures that can be assembled as skirmishers. These troops can be posed firing or loading their rifles, allowing players to represent the dispersed fighting tactics that became increasingly important during the conflict. A command group is also included, enabling the creation of complete units led by officers and NCOs.

The combination of marching troops, advancing infantry, skirmishers and command figures provides excellent flexibility for wargamers building French forces for the Franco-Prussian War. Whether recreating the battles of Wissembourg, Spicheren, Gravelotte or Sedan, this set forms an excellent core infantry unit for French armies of the period.
