History

The M-ATV (MRAP All Terrain Vehicle) was developed as a response to the limitations of earlier MRAPs in off-road conditions. The M1024A1 variant combines a V-shaped hull to deflect blasts with independent suspension for superior off-road performance. Introduced in 2009, it quickly became the preferred vehicle for frontline units in Afghanistan due to its protection, agility, and adaptability. It has seen widespread deployment in various theatres and remains a core asset in the U.S. military’s tactical fleet. Its rugged design and operational reliability have made it a subject of interest for modern military modellers.
