1/72 Scale Military Vehicle & Tank Model Kits

1/72 scale vehicle kits pack a wide choice of military subjects into a relatively compact scale. The range includes tanks, armoured vehicles, Jeeps, staff cars, trucks and other military vehicles, covering subjects from the Second World War through to modern armour.

WW2 1/72 scale models form a significant part of the selection. You can find well-known tanks such as the Sherman Firefly, Tiger I, Panther Ausf. G and A-34 Comet, alongside lighter vehicles including the Willys Jeep, Sd.Kfz.222 armoured vehicle, Schwimmwagen and military staff cars. Support vehicles are represented too, including fuel trucks and other wheeled subjects.

1/72 Scale Tanks and Armoured Vehicles

For tank modellers, 1/72 gives you plenty of choice across different periods. Alongside WW2 tank models, the range extends to later and modern armour including the Centurion Mk.5/1, Challenger 1 Mk.3, Leopard 2A7 and M1A2 SEP Abrams TUSK II. More unusual subjects such as the FV4005 on a Centurion hull also sit alongside the better-known vehicles.

Manufacturers represented include Airfix, Vespid Models, ACE Models, ICM, Academy, Meng Model, Italeri, IBG Models, Takom and others. This gives you different subjects and manufacturers to choose from while keeping your vehicle collection in the same scale.

WW2 1/72 Scale Vehicle Models

One of the strengths of 1/72 is the variety of WW2 vehicles available beyond tanks alone. Jeeps, scout cars, staff cars, utility vehicles, armoured vehicles and support vehicles can all sit alongside the main fighting vehicles, giving you more scope when building a collection or putting several related subjects together.

The scale also matches the many aircraft kits produced in 1/72. If you’re building across different subjects, our 1/72 plastic model kits section brings together more kits in the same scale.
