History:
The Blue Angels, established in 1946, are the US Navy’s official flight demonstration squadron, showcasing the skill of naval aviators and the capabilities of frontline aircraft. The team flew the F/A-18A Hornet from 1986 until 2020, performing hundreds of shows worldwide. The 2009/2010 seasons featured the Hornet in its classic blue and yellow colour scheme, continuing the tradition of precision aerobatics and tight-formation flying. As one of the longest-serving demonstration aircraft in Blue Angels history, the F/A-18A Hornet remains an iconic symbol of American naval aviation. Academy’s 1/72 kit brings this distinctive aircraft to life with accurate markings and fine detail.
