History:
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21, NATO reporting name “Fishbed,” entered service in the late 1950s and went on to become one of the most widely produced supersonic jet fighters in history. With its distinctive delta wing and lightweight design, the MiG-21 combined speed, agility, and affordability, making it a backbone of Soviet and Warsaw Pact air forces. It was exported to more than 50 countries and saw combat in conflicts across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Despite its relatively simple avionics compared to Western fighters, the MiG-21 proved effective in both air-to-air combat and ground-attack roles. Its longevity and global service history ensure its status as one of the most influential jet fighters ever built.
