History:
Commissioned in 1961, USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was the United States Navy’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the longest warship ever built at the time. Known as the “Big E,” the Enterprise served for over 50 years, participating in key Cold War, Vietnam War, and Gulf War operations. Her eight nuclear reactors gave her unprecedented endurance and operational range, setting her apart from conventionally powered carriers.
