History:
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 was introduced in the late 1940s as one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters. The MiG-15bis, an improved variant, featured enhanced engine performance and armament. During the Korean War, the MiG-15 proved a formidable opponent to UN forces, particularly against the F-86 Sabre in intense dogfights over “MiG Alley.” Its speed, climb rate, and powerful 37mm and 23mm cannons made it a dominant force in the skies. Operated by Soviet, Chinese, and North Korean pilots, the MiG-15bis became one of the most produced jet fighters in history, influencing aircraft design worldwide.
