History:
The Messerschmitt Bf 109T was developed for Germany’s planned aircraft carrier, the Graf Zeppelin. Based on the Bf 109E, the T-2 variant featured extended wings to improve low-speed handling, catapult attachment points, and arrestor hook fittings for carrier operations. Although the Graf Zeppelin project was never completed, a number of Bf 109T-2 aircraft were built and repurposed for land-based use. They served with the Luftwaffe in Norway and other regions where their excellent performance in short takeoff and landing conditions proved valuable. This Academy kit captures the unique navalised design of the Bf 109T-2, offering modellers an unusual and historically interesting subject from WWII aviation.
