History:
The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk, often referred to as the “Stealth Fighter,” was developed in the late 1970s as the world’s first operational aircraft designed around stealth technology. First flown in 1981, it entered service with the U.S. Air Force in 1983. Its faceted surfaces and radar-absorbing materials made it virtually invisible to radar at the time, giving it a decisive advantage in modern combat.
