History
The SdKfz 251 was developed to provide mechanised infantry with a protected and mobile transport vehicle capable of keeping pace with Panzer divisions. Introduced in 1939, the half-track quickly became a workhorse of the Wehrmacht, serving on every major front of the war. The SdKfz 251/1 variant was the standard troop carrier, typically armed with one or two MG34 or MG42 machine guns. Its versatility led to numerous specialised versions, adapted for roles ranging from command and engineering support to anti-aircraft and rocket launching. By war’s end, over 15,000 units had been produced, making it one of the most recognisable vehicles of the German Army. Today, surviving examples are preserved in museums as symbols of combined arms warfare during WWII.
Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.
