History
The Tiger I was introduced in 1942 and quickly became one of the most feared tanks of the Second World War. Its thick armour and powerful 88mm KwK 36 gun gave it a decisive edge against Allied armour. The early versions saw combat on the Eastern Front and in North Africa, proving their worth in both defensive and offensive operations. Although the tank was expensive to produce and mechanically complex, its battlefield effectiveness made it a legend of armoured warfare. Today, surviving Tiger I tanks are prized exhibits in museums, and the vehicle remains a popular subject for historians and modellers alike.
