This 1/48 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk I Trop from Arma Hobby represents the tropicalised version of the famous British fighter, adapted for operations in hot and dusty climates. Fitted with a Vokes tropical filter beneath the nose, the Mk I Trop saw service in North Africa and other overseas theatres during WWII.
The kit features finely detailed surface textures, accurate panel lines and carefully researched shapes to capture the distinctive look of the early Hurricane. Cockpit detail is sharply moulded and provides an excellent foundation for further enhancement straight from the box.

History
The Hawker Hurricane was one of the Royal Air Force’s most important fighters during the early years of WWII. Although often overshadowed by the Spitfire, it accounted for a significant proportion of aerial victories during the Battle of Britain. As the war expanded into the Mediterranean and North Africa, aircraft required modification to cope with harsh desert conditions.
The Hurricane Mk I Trop was equipped with a tropical air filter to protect the engine from sand and dust. These aircraft played a vital role in the Western Desert campaign, providing fighter cover and ground attack support against Axis forces. Rugged, dependable and adaptable, the Hurricane proved itself in climates far removed from its original European theatre.
