History:
The Yakovlev Yak-1b was a key Soviet fighter during World War II, evolving from earlier Yak-1 variants to improve visibility, armament, and pilot protection. Fast, manoeuvrable, and capable of matching German aircraft like the Bf 109 in the hands of skilled pilots, the Yak-1b became a symbol of Soviet resilience. It served on every major Eastern Front theatre and helped forge the reputations of many decorated Soviet aces. Its combination of simplicity, effectiveness, and versatility ensured its place among the most respected aircraft of the war.
