History:
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II first entered service in the late 1950s and quickly became one of the most successful and widely deployed jet fighters in aviation history. Originally designed for the United States Navy, it was soon adopted by the United States Air Force and Marine Corps, as well as numerous allied nations.
The F-4E variant introduced an internal cannon, addressing earlier limitations and improving its effectiveness in air combat. It saw extensive service during the Vietnam War and remained in use for decades, becoming a symbol of Cold War air power and technological advancement in military aviation.
