History
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was one of the most widely used Allied fighters of the early years of the Second World War. While it lacked the high altitude performance of later designs, it made up for it with rugged construction, heavy armament and the ability to operate from rough forward airfields.
The P-40N was the final major production variant, refined to reduce weight and improve range and handling. It served across multiple theatres, including the Pacific, China Burma India and North Africa, flown by a wide variety of Allied air forces. Though often overshadowed by more famous fighters, the Warhawk earned a reputation for toughness and reliability, becoming a trusted workhorse wherever it was deployed.
