Hobbyboss Plastic Model Kit
Archer Artillery System FH77BW L52 (1/35)
This kit captures the distinctive look of the Archer system, all sharp angles and purposeful engineering mounted on a rugged wheeled chassis. The moulding is clean and precise, so the long gun, loading system and cab structure come together with a steady rhythm rather than feeling overwhelming. You start to see the character of the vehicle fairly early in the build, which makes it one of those kits that rewards a patient, unhurried approach.
The suspension and wheel layout feel satisfyingly solid once assembled, and the angular armoured cab has plenty of crisp detail. The long L52 barrel sits neatly once aligned, and the rear module has enough small parts to keep things interesting without pushing into fiddly territory. Clear parts, external fittings and subtle surface textures give you plenty of options for adding depth when painting and weathering.

History
The Archer artillery system was developed by Sweden to create a fast-moving, highly automated self-propelled gun that could fire, relocate and fire again long before a traditional system could reposition. Built around the FH77BW L52 gun, the vehicle combines speed with precision, using a fully enclosed cab and an automated loading system to reduce exposure for the crew.
Introduced during the early 2010s, Archer was designed with modern battlefield demands in mind. Mobility across rough terrain, rapid deployment and protection all shaped its development. The system has since seen continued refinement and adoption beyond Sweden, reflecting a broader shift toward wheeled, rapid-response artillery solutions. It stands as an example of how modern designs blend accuracy, automation and survivability into a single platform.
