Hobbyboss Plastic Model Kit
IDF Eitan Wheeled APC (1/35)
This kit brings the Eitan to the bench in a way that feels grounded in how the real vehicle looks and moves. The shape sits tall and purposeful, and the eight wheel layout gives it that distinctive modern profile that separates it from older Israeli armour. Once you start clipping parts from the sprues, the clean moulding becomes obvious, with sharp panels, tidy lines and thoughtful breakdown of the larger surfaces.
The interior and exterior touches create a steady pace while building. The turret and weapons fit neatly, the wheel assemblies have just enough complexity to stay interesting and the various sensors and fittings around the hull add a nice layer of depth. It ends up feeling like a kit that rewards an unhurried approach, putting together each section so the angular structure of the Eitan slowly comes to life.

History
The Eitan was developed as part of a move towards lighter, more mobile wheeled vehicles within the Israel Defence Forces. It was created to complement heavier tracked platforms by giving infantry units a faster way to move through varied terrain while still having enough armour and protection for modern threats. The concept grew from lessons learned in urban and mixed terrain operations where speed, situational awareness and modular protection could make a significant difference.
Field testing began in the late 2010s, with the vehicle steadily refined through practical experience. The Eitan combines mobility with a flexible internal layout, allowing it to serve in multiple roles depending on operational needs. It has since become a visible part of Israel’s modern armoured fleet, seen in training and active deployments, reflecting an ongoing shift towards contemporary wheeled armoured solutions. As an example of recent military design, it stands at an interesting point where protection, adaptability and speed all share equal priority.
