I Love Kit Plastic Model Kit
US Army M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII Medium Tank (1/16)
This 1/16 scale M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII from I Love Kit represents the final personal tank of U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Creighton W. Abrams Jr., whose Shermans all carried the name “Thunderbolt.” Featuring the later 76mm gun, Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS), and appliqué armour package, this Easy Eight configuration reflects one of the most capable wartime variants of the Sherman family.
The kit comprises 24 sprues and includes upper and lower hull sections, individual track links, and photo-etched metal parts, for a total parts count exceeding 1,200 pieces. Once completed, the model measures approximately 471.6mm in length and 186.2mm in width, giving it a substantial presence on display. The detailed suspension, hull fittings, and turret components provide an excellent foundation for careful assembly, painting, and weathering.

Thunderbolt VII was the seventh and final Sherman Abrams commanded during WWII, and it became closely associated with his aggressive leadership style as the armoured forces pushed through Europe. Abrams later rose to prominence in the U.S. Army, and the modern M1 Abrams main battle tank carries his name in recognition of his legacy. Today, “Thunderbolt” has also found new life through online armoured warfare games, but this kit returns the focus to the real vehicle, offering a large-scale, highly detailed tribute to one of the most famous Shermans of the war.
