Italeri Plastic Model Kit
Bf 109 G-2/G-6 Aces (1/72)
This Italeri 1/72 scale kit builds the Bf 109 G-2 and G-6, two of the most widely used variants of Germany’s famous WWII fighter. The model captures the compact airframe, refined nose profile and distinctive features of the Gustav series with clean moulding and sharp surface detail. Measuring 12.5 cm when assembled, the kit offers a tidy, well-proportioned representation suitable for display or diorama work.
Included is a decal sheet featuring markings for four of the most renowned Luftwaffe aces: Erich Hartmann, Gerhard Barkhorn, Günther Rall and Johannes Steinhoff. This continues Italeri’s World War II Aces series, giving modellers a chance to recreate some of the most recognisable aircraft flown by top-scoring pilots of the conflict. The parts layout is straightforward, offering an enjoyable build for both newer and experienced modellers.

History
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is one of the most iconic fighters of the Second World War and served as the backbone of the Luftwaffe’s fighter arm from 1939 to 1945. Continuously upgraded to keep pace with newer Allied aircraft, it remained competitive thanks to its compact design, strong climb rate and steady gun platform characteristics. The G-series represented a major phase of development, introducing improved armament, revised cowling shapes and more powerful engines.
Many of the highest-scoring aces in history flew the Bf 109, particularly within Jagdgeschwader 52. Erich Hartmann, the top-scoring fighter ace of all time, achieved the majority of his victories in a Bf 109
