History
The SH-2F Seasprite was developed as part of the Kaman Seasprite family to serve as a compact, ship based helicopter for the United States Navy. Designed to operate from smaller vessels such as frigates and destroyers, it provided an essential capability for anti submarine warfare, surface surveillance and utility missions.
Entering service during the Cold War, the SH-2F featured advanced avionics for its size, including radar and sensor systems that allowed it to operate effectively in demanding maritime environments. Its small footprint, reliability and versatility led to widespread adoption, and the Seasprite saw service with several naval forces around the world, remaining in frontline use for decades.
