History
The North African campaign was one of the most distinctive theatres of the Second World War, defined by vast open terrain, extreme heat and highly mobile warfare. British and Commonwealth forces faced Axis troops across deserts stretching from Egypt to Tunisia, where speed, improvisation and adaptability were often more important than static defence.
Small unit encounters, patrol clashes and unexpected skirmishes were common, particularly away from major offensives. These moments often involved confusion, close contact and rapid decision-making, conditions that inspired many of the informal stories and imagery associated with desert warfare.
This figure set reflects that side of the campaign, capturing a snapshot of life and combat in the desert rather than a formal battlefield formation, making it a strong foundation for character-focused WWII scenes.
