MisterCraft Plastic Model Kit
Spitfire Mk. XVI E Packard (1/48) F-182
This 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk. XVI E from MisterCraft represents the late war variant powered by the Packard built Merlin engine. Externally similar to the Mk. IX, the Mk. XVI featured the American produced Packard Merlin and often incorporated the E type wing configuration, allowing different armament layouts.
The kit captures the elegant lines of the Spitfire, including its distinctive elliptical wings and refined fuselage shape. Surface detailing reflects panel lines and control surfaces typical of the aircraft. A full build guide and colour paint guide are included to support assembly and finishing.

History
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XVI entered service in 1944 and was powered by the Packard built Merlin engine manufactured in the United States. This arrangement helped increase production output while maintaining performance similar to the Merlin powered Mk. IX.
Used extensively in the final year of the war, the Mk. XVI served in both air superiority and ground attack roles across Europe, continuing the Spitfire’s legacy as one of the most iconic fighters of the Second World War.
