OcCre Wooden Ship Model Kit
HMS Revenge (1/85) 13004
HMS Revenge was one of the most formidable English galleons of the late 16th century, designed at a time when naval warfare was changing fast. Built in 1577 by Sir John Hawkins in the shipyards of Deptford, she was created with a narrower hull and lower superstructures than most galleons of her era. This gave her greater stability and made her a much more effective gun platform in battle.
The ship served under the command of Sir Francis Drake and took part in several major engagements against the Spanish. Revenge became known not just for her speed and firepower, but for the way she could hold her own against much larger enemy vessels, a trait that made her a legend of the English fleet.

History
In 1590, HMS Revenge became part of the English fleet sent to intercept the Spanish treasure convoys returning from the Americas. During what became known as the Frobisher expedition, Revenge was heavily outnumbered and eventually captured after a fierce fight, turning her into Spanish war booty.
Fate, however, had other plans. While being taken to Spain, a violent storm struck and the battered ship sank, ending the story of one of England’s most famous galleons at the bottom of the Atlantic. Her dramatic final voyage only added to the legend, turning HMS Revenge into a symbol of defiance and endurance from the golden age of sail.
