OcCre Wooden Transport Model Kit
San Francisco Tram (1/24) 53007
San Francisco’s cable cars are one of the most recognisable transport icons in the world, and they have been quietly doing their job for well over a century. The first cable car system of this type was developed in London, but it was in San Francisco that the idea truly found its home. On 2 August 1873, Andrew S. The OcCre San Francisco Tram is based on car number 60 of the California Street fleet, a design rooted in the original cable cars built by John Hammond & Company in 1906. Despite earthquakes, fires, and generations of rebuilding and renumbering, this basic design has survived. The real car was refurbished several times, including a major renovation in the late 1960s that reused original seats and the roof, preserving its historic character while keeping it in daily service.
