Panda Model Plastic Model Kit
M8 Armoured Gun System (1/35)
This 1/35 scale kit from Panda Model represents the M8 Armoured Gun System, an American prototype light tank developed during the final years of the Cold War. Intended to provide airborne and rapid deployment forces with a mobile, hard-hitting fire support vehicle, the M8 combined relatively light weight with a powerful main gun.
First completed as a series of prototypes in the mid-1990s, the M8 was powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V 92TIA engine producing up to 580 horsepower, giving it impressive road speed and mobility for its class. Armament centred on a 105mm Rheinmetall M35 cannon, supported by 7.62mm and 12.7mm machine guns. Despite extensive testing, the programme was ultimately cancelled before full production.
Panda Model captures the compact proportions and distinctive turret design of the M8 with sharply moulded plastic parts. Photo-etched components and clear parts are included to enhance finer details, while link-by-link tracks provide a realistic appearance to the suspension and running gear.
