History
The SH-2G Super Seasprite is the final and most capable evolution of the Kaman Seasprite family, originally developed during the Cold War. The G-model introduced modern avionics, improved sensors and enhanced mission capability, allowing the aircraft to remain relevant well into the post-Cold War period.
Entering service in the 1990s, the SH-2G was adopted by several navies worldwide, including those of New Zealand, Poland and Egypt. It has been used extensively for maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare and surface surveillance, often operating from relatively small ships where larger helicopters could not be accommodated.
