History
The Su-30 programme emerged from the need for a long-range, two-seat fighter capable of extended patrols and complex mission management. By adding a second crew member, the aircraft could undertake longer missions while reducing pilot workload, particularly during navigation, sensor operation and weapons employment.
The Su-30MK variant was developed primarily for export customers and became the foundation for a wide family of advanced Flanker derivatives operated around the world.
