History
The FV432 entered British Army service in the early 1960s as part of a new family of tracked vehicles designed to move infantry under armour. Built for simplicity and reliability, it was intended to operate alongside main battle tanks while offering protection from small arms fire and shell splinters.
Over its long service life, the FV432 appeared in numerous upgraded forms, including the Mk 2/1 variant, and was deployed across a wide range of environments from Europe to the Middle East. Its spacious interior allowed it to carry a full infantry section, while its tracked mobility ensured it could follow armoured units across difficult terrain.
Though eventually replaced by newer platforms, the FV432 remained in service for decades, proving itself as a dependable battlefield taxi and support vehicle. For modellers, it represents a classic piece of British armour, understated, functional, and historically significant.
