Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
German Field Kitchen (1/35)
This 1/35 scale German Field Kitchen model kit recreates an essential but often overlooked element of WWII military logistics. Designed to support non mechanised units such as infantry formations, the field kitchen provided hot meals close to the front line, playing a vital role in maintaining morale and operational effectiveness.
The kit centres on a highly detailed field cooking trailer, complete with textured wooden wheels and a realistically rendered flue. The limber and trailer can be displayed either connected or separated, adding flexibility for diorama layouts. Included figures and accessories bring the scene to life, offering a strong foundation for narrative driven WWII displays.

History
During World War II, German field kitchens were used extensively to provide meals for infantry and other non mechanised units operating away from fixed supply points. Typically horse drawn, these mobile kitchens allowed food to be prepared and distributed close to troop positions, even in difficult terrain.
Such equipment was a familiar sight from the opening stages of the war in 1939 through to its end in 1945. Though rarely highlighted in popular accounts, field kitchens were a critical component of military operations, underscoring the importance of supply and support in sustained combat campaigns.
