Nashorn Heavy Duty Tank Destroyer (1/35) 35335
The German Nashorn (‘Rhinoceros’) was a formidable tank destroyer developed during WWII to address the need for mobile anti-tank firepower capable of defeating heavily armoured Soviet tanks. Built on a modified Panzer III/IV chassis and armed with the powerful 88mm Pak 43/1 gun, the Nashorn could engage enemy armour at extreme ranges with deadly accuracy. Despite its thin armour and open-top design, its long-range capabilities made it a serious threat on the battlefield.
Introduced in 1943, Nashorns were used on both the Eastern and Western Fronts and were particularly effective in defensive roles. Their high-velocity gun allowed German crews to knock out enemy tanks before they could return fire, and while production was limited to around 500 units, the Nashorn proved its worth as a precision tank killer.
