Victrix Medieval Plastic Miniatures
Victrix Medieval Crossbowmen & Archers (28mm) VXM007
This set contains 30 highly detailed medieval infantry figures, combining crossbowmen and archers into a flexible and historically grounded unit. Designed to expand the Western Medieval range, these figures sit naturally alongside mounted knights, foot knights, and foot sergeants.
The box includes 20 crossbowmen and 10 archers, with a wide selection of heads, arms, and equipment allowing every figure to be built differently. The variety is immediately noticeable when assembled, which helps units feel organic rather than uniform.

These figures are suitable for conflicts across Europe from the late 12th to late 13th centuries, including the Crusades, the Barons’ Wars, and fighting involving English, French, Spanish, German, and border forces from Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. The equipment reflects developments of the period, including later crossbows fitted with stirrups to improve loading speed and power.
The inclusion of archers wearing gambeson adds further flexibility. These can be mixed with other medieval archer figures to create varied units that feel lived in rather than staged. Historically, English forces increasingly relied on archers following the Assize of Arms of 1242, while crossbows were more widely favoured by French, Italian, Gascon, and Catalan troops.
On the tabletop, these figures represent the backbone of medieval armies. Infantry formations of spearmen, archers, and crossbowmen formed solid central blocks, allowing cavalry to charge, withdraw, and reform repeatedly behind them. This set captures that role perfectly, grounded, practical, and essential.
