The Chyweethl Armoured Tractor first entered Coftyran service in the late 1640s and has remained a mainstay of their Mechanical Corps ever since. While the modern variant shares little with the earliest examples beyond its distinctive silhouette and chained-pedrail system, its legacy is unmistakable. Across more than a century, the design has undergone numerous revisions, each reflecting the evolution of Coftyr’s military engineering philosophy.
True to Coftyran doctrine, the Chyweethl forgoes a rotating turret in favour of mounting a heavier, fixed main gun. This configuration demands exceptional teamwork from its three-man crew, as accurate aiming requires precise coordination between the gunner and the driver, who “steers” the weapon into position by adjusting the throttles. The chained-pedrail tracks provide superb traction on rough terrain, though they perform poorly on paved roads, quickly wearing out under extended use. Despite its quirks, the Chyweethl remains an enduring and reliable design valued for its rugged simplicity and battlefield presence.
