The self-propelled rocket launcher Sd.Kfz.4/1 Panzerwerfer 42 was a formidable vehicle that was equipped with a unit mounting 10 Nebelwerfer rocket tubes. The Nebelwerfer was originally developed as an answer to the Russian Katyusha rockets. It used 15cm tubes and had a maximum range for explosive and smoke rockets of 7,000 meters. The Panzerwerfer 42 hull featured 6-8mm of armor plus a top-mounted machine gun. Over a period of roughly a year from Spring 1943, some 300 vehicles were manufactured and thrown into hostilities on both the Western and Eastern fronts. About the Model
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Sd.Kfz.4/1 Panzerwerfer 42. _Length: 172mm, width: 62mm. _The original classic Italeri kit has been updated for greater accuracy and ease of assembly. _Rocket launcher parts have been improved to showcase better detail. _The MG34 machine gun is now depicted by new, separate parts. _Front tires feature sharp tread pattern, and are made from paintable material. _Molding of vehicle-top tool accessory parts has been improved. _Optional rivet parts are molded onto the back of a sprue for those who wish to add even more detail! _Two figures are included depicting soldiers in the process of loading ammo. _Rocket container parts also included. _Two types of marking option included. _Vehicle parts are a product of Italeri.
