03269, Soviet Heavy Tank IS-2
Introduced in late 1943 in response to German Panther and Tiger tanks, Russia’s ‘IS’ series replaced the earlier ‘KV’ series and featured heavier armour and crucially, more powerful main guns. The IS-2 mounted the formidable ex-Naval 122mm main gun, which was capable of defeating the armour of both German tanks and came as a real shock to German tank crews when first encountered! Revell’s detailed kit features full chassis, rotating turret, elevating main gun, one-piece injection moulded tracks that can be shaped to show characteristic track sag and DsHK heavy machine gun.
