History
The M1 Abrams entered service with the United States Army in the early 1980s and quickly became one of the most advanced main battle tanks in the world. Designed with powerful armour protection, advanced targeting systems and a gas turbine engine, the Abrams offered exceptional battlefield performance.
The M1A1 variant introduced the 120mm smoothbore gun, improving firepower against enemy armour. During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Abrams tanks played a major role in armoured operations and demonstrated their effectiveness in both urban combat and open desert warfare.
