History:
The Junkers Ju87 Stuka was one of the most recognisable aircraft of World War II. Initially a dive-bomber, the Ju87 evolved into several specialised roles, including the G-2 “Kanonen Vogel” (Cannon Bird), introduced in 1943. Equipped with twin 37mm cannons under its wings, the Ju87G-2 became a formidable anti-tank weapon during the battles on the Eastern Front. Piloted by experts such as Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the type proved deadly against Soviet armour despite being outdated as a frontline bomber.
