Andy Hobby HQ Plastic Model Kit
British M10 Achilles (1/16)
This 1/16 scale M10 Achilles from Andy Hobby HQ delivers an impressive, large-format build of the British-operated tank destroyer. The Achilles was based on the US M10, upgraded by the British with the powerful 17-pounder anti-tank gun, and this scale captures its purposeful silhouette and open-topped fighting compartment with strong surface detail and a commanding presence.
At this size, the details stand out clearly: the angular turret layout, upper hull contours, gun mantlet construction and interior elements of the fighting compartment. The larger scale also allows the suspension, running gear and track components to show their structure more convincingly than smaller kits. It’s a substantial display piece with plenty of scope for painting, weathering and diorama work.

History
The M10 Achilles was the British variant of the US M10 tank destroyer, modified to carry the 17-pounder gun, one of the most effective Allied anti-tank weapons of the Second World War. This upgrade dramatically improved the vehicle’s ability to engage German armour at range, making the Achilles an important asset in European operations from 1944 onward.
Used by British and Commonwealth forces, the Achilles provided mobile, accurate fire support and took part in actions from Normandy to the final advance into Germany. Its combination of mobility and firepower made it one of the more respected Allied tank destroyers of the conflict, and it remains a favourite subject among modellers and military historians.
