Dragon Models Plastic Model Kit
Bf 109E-4 WWII German Fighter (1/48)
This 1/48 scale Bf 109E-4 marks the debut of Dragon’s new Wing Tech 2 generation, an approach that completely rethinks the structure and engineering of aircraft model kits. A one-piece fuselage forms the backbone of the build, dramatically improving alignment while reducing seams, filling and cleanup. The plug-in wing assembly has been designed for precision fit, with concealed joints that help maintain clean panel lines and minimise surface work.
The kit includes multi-colour injection parts and features movable elements such as the rudder and flaps, offering more variety for display. The canopy is supplied with pre-painted framing, removing a traditionally tricky step and giving the finished model a crisp, consistent appearance. Dragon also includes a highly detailed 3D-printed engine, adding depth and realism to the nose section. Decals are provided for an authentic WWII camouflage scheme, rounding out a package that pushes the 1/48 Bf 109E into a new tier of design quality.

History
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 was one of the defining fighters of the early Second World War. Known as the “Emil,” this variant featured improved armour, revised canopy framing and the 20 mm MG FF/M wing cannon configuration that became standard during the Battle of Britain. Fast, agile and widely deployed, the E-4 served with the Luftwaffe across Europe, proving highly capable in interception, escort and dogfighting roles.
The Bf 109E helped shape the air war of 1939–40 and became one of the most recognisable fighters of the era, making it a favourite subject for modellers. This new-tool kit offers a modern, highly engineered interpretation of the classic aircraft.
