History:
The Panzerkampfwagen II (Pz.Kpfw II) Sd.Kfz. 121 was developed in the mid-1930s as a stopgap solution to bolster Germany’s growing panzer divisions. Initially intended as a training and reconnaissance vehicle, the Pz.Kpfw II quickly became a front-line asset during the early stages of World War II, especially during the invasions of Poland and France.
Armed with a 20mm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon and a 7.92mm MG34 machine gun, it was lightly armoured but fast and mobile. Though eventually outclassed by Allied and Soviet armour, the Panzer II played a vital role in Blitzkrieg tactics, providing valuable reconnaissance support and firepower during the opening years of the war. It was also used as a base for several self-propelled gun variants.
Gecko Models’ 1/16 scale kit captures the iconic profile and technical intricacies of this early war tank. With fine detailing and large-scale presence, this build offers both visual impact and historical value, making it a rewarding project for enthusiasts of German WWII armour.
