History
The A-7 Corsair II was developed from the F-8 Crusader and entered US Navy service in the mid-1960s. The A-7A variant was the first production model, created to provide accurate close air support and strike capability from aircraft carriers.
It saw extensive service during the Vietnam War, where its advanced navigation and weapons systems allowed pilots to deliver ordnance with greater precision than earlier attack aircraft. The Corsair II later served with several air forces worldwide, proving itself as a dependable and versatile combat platform throughout the Cold War.
