History:
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was introduced in the late 1950s and quickly became one of the most versatile and widely used fighter aircraft in the world. Designed initially for the United States Navy, it was later adopted by numerous air forces, serving in roles ranging from air superiority to ground attack and reconnaissance.
The F-4EJ variant was produced specifically for Japan, tailored to meet the requirements of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It played a key role in Japan’s air defence during the Cold War, remaining in service for decades and becoming a familiar sight in Japanese skies before being gradually replaced by more modern aircraft.
