This 1/48 scale plastic model kit from Hasegawa represents the F4U-5M Corsair, one of the most advanced developments of the famous Corsair series. Produced after WWII, the F4U-5 featured extensive modernisation and became one of the fastest piston-engined fighters in U.S. Navy service, even surpassing the top speed of the F8F-2 at the time.

The kit contains 129 parts and captures the distinctive inverted gull wings, powerful engine cowling, and refined fuselage of this late-variant Corsair. Fine engraved surface detail and accurate proportions allow for a faithful representation of the aircraft as operated by the US Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. History
