History
The SEPECAT Jaguar was the result of a joint British and French programme launched in 1965. Originally intended as an advanced trainer, the aircraft quickly evolved into a dedicated ground-attack platform. For the Royal Air Force, the Jaguar GR Mk.1 became a key low-level strike aircraft during the Cold War, valued for its speed, stability and ability to deliver a wide range of ordnance.
French variants entered service around the same time, replacing older training and attack aircraft. Over the years the Jaguar saw action in multiple operational theatres and earned a reputation as a tough, reliable strike jet. Its distinctive high-mounted wings and twin-engine layout make it an instantly recognisable Cold War aircraft.
