Hasegawa Plastic Model Kit
X-29 [U.S. Advanced Technology Demonstrator] (1/72)
Striking 1/72 scale representation of the Grumman X-29, produced as part of the Hasegawa B Series range. This kit captures the aircraft’s unconventional forward swept wing design and compact test aircraft layout, offering something distinctly different from frontline combat types.
The kit includes clear canopy parts, waterslide decals and multiple configuration options for weapons and undercarriage. An easy to follow build guide and colour guide support a straightforward assembly process, while still allowing room to enjoy the unique geometry and surface detail of the airframe.

History
The Grumman X-29 was an experimental aircraft developed during the 1980s to explore advanced aerodynamic concepts. Its most distinctive feature was its forward swept wings, a configuration that offered potential benefits in manoeuvrability and control, but which had previously been impractical due to structural challenges.
Advances in composite materials and computer controlled fly by wire systems made the X-29 possible. Operated by NASA and the U.S. Air Force, the aircraft was used to gather data rather than to develop an operational fighter. While it never entered service, the X-29 contributed valuable research into high angle of attack performance and control systems, influencing later aircraft design and helping to push the boundaries of modern aeronautical engineering.
