History: The IAR.80B was an improved version of Romania’s domestically produced IAR.80 fighter, designed by Industria Aeronautică Română. Powered by the IAR K14 radial engine and equipped with additional armament, it served as Romania’s front-line fighter during the early 1940s. Over Stalingrad, Romanian pilots flying the IAR.80B provided vital air cover for Axis ground forces, engaging Soviet aircraft in fierce combat. Despite being outclassed by newer Allied designs later in the war, the IAR.80B remains a testament to Romania’s engineering capabilities and wartime contributions.
This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.
