ICM Plastic Model Kit
B-26C-45 Marauder WWII American Bomber (1/48) 48328
This 1/48 scale kit captures the B-26C-45 Marauder, one of the most significant medium bombers used by the United States during the Second World War. Built at Martin’s Omaha facility, the C-series aircraft retained the structure of the B-version but incorporated small refinements that contributed to the type’s growing reputation for reliability and effectiveness. The kit reflects the later airframe configuration introduced in 1943, including increased wing area and an enlarged tail, both of which improved handling and remained standard throughout subsequent production.
ICM’s tooling offers crisp surface detailing, a fully rendered cockpit, and internal fuselage equipment that brings the aircraft’s complex interior to life. With 362 parts, the model presents an intricate but well-engineered build, supported by clear assembly instructions. Three marking options are included for aircraft serving with the 17th and 320th Bombardment Groups in the European theatre, providing solid choices for display.

The B-26 Marauder entered service in 1941 following its first flight in late 1940 and quickly became one of America’s most recognisable medium bombers. Known for its speed and robust structure, the aircraft benefited from continual improvements throughout production. Widened wings and a larger tail introduced in 1943 significantly enhanced stability, making the Marauder increasingly effective in combat. Demand soon overwhelmed Martin’s original factory, prompting a second production line in Omaha, where the B-26C series was built. The C-45 block became the most produced variant, with 359 aircraft constructed. Marauders of the 17th and 320th Bombardment Groups went on to conduct extensive operations across Europe, supporting the Allied advance with precision strikes and earning a reputation for resilience and accuracy.
