ICM Plastic Model Kit
MH-6J Little Bird U.S. Special Forces Helicopter (1/48)
This kit represents the MH-6J Little Bird, a light special operations helicopter developed from the Hughes OH-6 Cayuse lineage. Originally selected under the US Army LOH programme, the design evolved through McDonnell Douglas into the MD 500 family, with the MH-6J emerging as a dedicated special operations platform.
The MH-6J was developed specifically for the [160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0), widely known as the Night Stalkers. Compact, agile, and highly adaptable, the Little Bird is optimised for insertion, extraction, and reconnaissance missions where speed and precision matter more than protection.

Powered by a single turboshaft engine and fitted with skid landing gear, the MH-6J features a compact aluminium alloy fuselage with the cockpit positioned forward and avionics housed beneath the floor. Although capable of carrying significant external loads, the aircraft is most often associated with carrying four fully equipped troops seated on exposed side benches, a configuration that has become iconic in modern military aviation.
Deployed worldwide alongside its armed counterpart, the AH-6, the Little Bird has become one of the defining symbols of modern US special operations aviation. Its continued use speaks less to size or firepower, and more to trust. Trust in the machine, and in the crews who fly it.
